I'm trying to use these to learn how to draw feet from a front view, but it's not really working out great :\
Any tips?

for me the most important thing which helped me to draw feet was figuring out how they work. Once you've got a good grasp of how the bones are shaped within the feet and how far the feet can bend so on, you'll have a better idea of how to draw them in any pose. Here's a nice foot study I found online: [link]

I know it sounds silly but take a look at your own feet. Study them! :) When it comes to drawing them from the front, I found it very helpful to look at how other people draw them and see if I can replicate that. I'm not saying you should copy anything at all, just look at how others express feet and see which you think are most effective and simple. Then try to apply the same simple expression of feet to your own drawings.

Here's a very realistic looking foot which is in front view. it's good to know the shape of the foot underneath the shoe, then you can apply a shoe shape to it. [link]

Remember when it comes to shoes, women in high heels like my fencer girl in this drawing will look as though they have more of the front of their feet on show because their feet are tipping forward due to the heels.

Have fun! :)
